One of
the problems in laying new or replacement footpaths
is in ensuring the underlying soil stability. Poorly
laid paths will sink in places requiring repair work.
We
have an approved process that allows rapid footpath
preparation without the longer term risk of sagging
due to soil stability problems.
We mix the excavated soil with a soil
stabiliser which is a HAUC (Highways Authority and Utilities
Council) approved cementatious compound.
The soil stabiliser aids the sub-base
of the footpath to achieve the appropriate compaction
which provides an excellent foundation for the pathway.
One of the major benefits of this
method is that it is environmentally friendly, additionally
it saves on the cost of exporting the surplus material
to landfill tips.
This also reduces the cost of materials
and therefore reduces the cost to Mid Kent Water.
